Actually I don't understand the question "Where could I find results about static equilibria in random matching of heterogeneous agents playing PD?"
What do you mean by static equilibrium? And what kind if heteogeneity do you have in mind? If you look at a large (not necessarily infinite) population of players programmed to actions "co-operate" or "defect" which are randomly matched to play a 2x2 PD game then the asymptotically stable population state is of course the unique Nash equilibrium in dominant strategies. It is of course also the unique Evolutionary Stable Strategy (ESS). You may want to look at Weibull (1995) Evolutionary Game Theory, MIT Press. [Manage messages]
